The Community Group Training and Workforce Development helps professionals at every level to advance their careers. Whether you are interested in obtaining college credits, pursuing a Child Development Associate credential, or opening your own home-based child care business, the TCG Training and Workforce Development team can support you.

TCG has been offering early childhood content-based college courses in Spanish since 1989. These courses offer the opportunity to early childhood professionals to satisfy EEC requirements while obtaining college credits toward their degree.

These courses are available in Spanish through the Community Partnership grant in partnership with Urban College of Boston, accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

These courses are available for early childhood educators as well as those looking to enter the field of early childhood education. College courses can lead to Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care certification as a Teacher, Lead Teacher, Infant Toddler Lead Teacher, Director I, or Director II.

In addition to the courses offered through the Community Partnership grant, all participants can borrow textbooks and a Chromebook.

Below are available college courses. If you are interested in enrolling in a college course, please fill out the interest form below and you will be added to our wait list. The next time the course is scheduled, a member of the TCG Training and Workforce Development team will reach out to you with registration information.

CDA Credential

TCG Training and Workforce Development also offers a support group for educators interested in obtaining their CDA Credential. The group meets weekly for 12 weeks and is mentored on how to create a portfolio, and how to prepare for their exam and observation visit. Participants receive all necessary CDA books, materials to create their CDA binder, a scholarship to cover the cost of the CDA application fee, and support preparing for the exam and the observation visit

If you are interested in opening your own home-based business as a Family Child Care (FCC) educator, TCG Training and Workforce Development can help. In collaboration with United Way of Massachusetts Bay, TCG offers a licensing support program, as well as coaching and mentoring to help new FCC educators develop the business skills necessary to operate a successful business, as well as the skills to create a nurturing, safe, healthy learning environment for children.
